UK registries should start using the ENCR definitions for the coding of basis of diagnosis, available as Appendix Po/02/04, for registrations as from 01/01/2002. Registries should implement the ENCR definitions for the coding of basis of diagnosis retrospectively for registrations from 1998 onwards.
